Homemade Balsamic Vinaigrette Dressing

Several years ago when I began eating Paleo, I began making my own salad dressings. Even most dressings on a health food store shelf that appear to be “organic” and “healthy” have all kinds of sugar, soy, canola oil and many other ingredients in them that don’t support good health. I never get tired of this dressing. It goes so well with many different salads, including salads with fruit!

So, this recipe goes out to all of you that are looking for “money saving” tips and recipes! And to those whom love a quick, simple do-it yourself FRESH home made way of eating!

Ingredients

  • 1/3 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 2/3 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon gluten free Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 to 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • pinch of sea salt to taste
  • pinch of black pepper to taste
  • 1 teaspoon fresh oregano, chopped fine or 1/2 teaspoon dried
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped fine or 1/2 teaspoon dried

Use all organic ingredients if possible.

Directions

Combine all of your ingredients into a glass jar. I use a pint size jar. Put a seal and ring on tight. Shake to combine. Label and date your dressing. Store in the refrigerator for up to one month. ENJOY!

BEHIND THE SCENE FUNNY I didn’t have any masking tape around the house but found a roll of athletic tape laying out. Definitely a sign of football season in our house. Worked just fine for a jar label!
